African Korfball Federation
Tuesday, 14 April 2009 07:16
Korfballactivities on the African Continent were formalized and structured on Saturday, 4 April 2009, with the establishment of the African Continental Korfball Federation (ACKF) in Pretoria, South Africa.

This historic occasion was attended by delegates from Botswana, Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe with Mozambique not able to attend.

On the agenda was the adoption of statutes, election of officials, korfball development on the African Continent, affiliation to the African Zone 6 Sport Structure and a competition calendar. The Congress decided to elect a working committee to further drive korfball and the newly established structure on the African continent until Zambia and Mozambique have established secure korfball structures in the two countries where after elections will be held to elect an Executive Committee. The working committee will be chaired by Mr Les Williams (South Africa) as President and Mr Tarirai Chadebah of Zimbabwe will act as Secretary General. Mr Hein van der Lith (South Africa), Mrs Irene Luka (Malawi), Mr Bothle Mogapelwa (Botswana) and Mr Kaluba Kangwa (Zambia) will form the rest of the committee.
