Friday 20 January 2012 was the founding meeting of IKF Europe in Warsaw (POL).
The delegates of 12 countries present in the meeting elected the executive committee of the Continental Confederation of IKF Europe. IKF Europe represents the 31 countries within the territory of IKF Europe.
Due to an achilles tendon rupture a few days before the meeting Milan Schwarz, earlier elected president of IKF Europe, could not preside the meeting. Schwarz had surgery. The operation was succesful.
The founding meeting was presided by Frans Walvis, senior vice president of IKF.

The IKF has made another step towards the future with this new continental confederation in Europe. in total the IKF has 5 continental confederations; the other 4 are: IKF Asia, IKF Africa, IKF Americas and IKF Oceania. The growth of korfball will benefit of this step.
