Mr Kok-Chi SIEH, Secretary General of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, expressed great admiration for korfball to the President of the IKF during a recent visit.
Mr Fransoo visited the OCM headquarters in Kuala Lumpur together with Mr Chee-Yong Jungle LIM, President of the Malaysia Korfball Association. Mr Fransoo thanked Mr Sieh for taking the initiative for introducing korfball into Malaysia in 2007, after Mr Fong, currently Assistant General Manager of OCM, had met Dr Inglish Huang, currently President of IKF Asia. Since 2007, korfball has expanded in Malaysia to comprise four states currently, with mainly primary and secondary schools playing the sport. The key important person in this successful expansion has been Mr Chee-Yong Lim, know to many korfballers around the world by his nickname "Jungle".
Mr Sieh, who is also a member of the Sports Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia, had a long and interesting discussion with the korfball delegation, offering his advise on the further development of korfball in Malaysia and in Asia. Mr Fransoo shared his experiences on sport administration with Mr Sieh.
