IOC awards Olympic Order to IKF President Bob de Die
Monday, 17 March 2003 00:00
Bunnik, Netherlands - The Council of the Olympic Order of the International Olympic Committee has awarded the Olympic order to Bob de Die, President of the International Korfball Federation and Senior Vice-President of the International World Games Association, "for the outstanding services to the Olympic Movement". In a personal letter by IOC President Rogge, Mr De Die was informed of the decision last Thursday.

Bob de Die (69) was very honoured and pleasantly surprised by this exclusive distinction. He felt especially honoured since he is still very active in korfball and in the World Games, and intends to keep on contributing, especially towards the program of the 2005 Duisburg World Games.

Bob de Die has been President of the International Korfball Federation since 1988 and has served on its Executive Committee since 1981. He has been Exco member of the Royal Netherlands Korfball Association between 1969 and 1983. Furthermore, Bob has been Vice-President of the International World Games Association from 1993-1997 and Senior Vice-President since 1997.

Bob lives in Helmond, the Netherlands, is married to Margareth, has two sons, one daughter, and six grandchildren
