The Council of the International Korfball Federation has decided - subject
to ratification by the 2007 General Meeting - to accept China as its 45th
member nation.
The KPCC requested last week to be granted IKF membership,
following a two year development project in which korfball was introduced to
schools and universities. It is anticipated that before too long the KPCC
will develop into a full national association. The IKF President will be in
Beijing this coming Friday for further discussions with the KPCC. The
development project in China has received considerable financial and
manpower support over the past two years from KNKV (Netherlands) and the
AOKF Secretary General (Asia-Oceania).
